Volunteer to be a Teacher or Group Facilitator

Becoming a NAMI education class teacher would involve a weekend of training as well as teaching at least 2 classes in two years. Teachers and facilitators for other programs or support groups have varying lengths of training and expectations.  Volunteers are need for:

  • NAMI Family to Family education classes                                                
  • NAMI De Familia a Familia education classes
  • NAMI Basics education classes
  • NAMI Homefront - for military and veteran family members
  • NAMI Peer to Peer education classes
  • NAMI In Our Own Voice
  • NAMI Ending the Silence presentations
  • NAMI Provider education classes
  • NAMI Parents and Teachers as Allies team presenters
  • NAMI Smarts
  • Hearing Voices That are Distressing
  • WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Planning)
  • Mental Health First Aid
  • NAMI Family Support Group facilitator (involves once a month 2-1/2 hr commitment of time)
  • NAMI Connections support group facilitator (once a week, 1 ½ hr commitment of time)
